madi ballista is a writer, musician, and fantasy cartographer currently located in Philadelphia. one of her favorite pastimes is telling lies about boats on the internet. she has a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of New Mexico and enjoys Japanese-English translation as a hobby, all the way from prose fiction to song lyrics. she was also a casual contributor to the music review site formerly known as The Singles Jukebox, and now runs the informal music blog ballista beats.
